Vehicles for Evangelization, Social Services and Other Church Needs #00430S

The Evangelical Methodist Church in Bolivia (IEMB) has work and congregations stretching from the western highlands or altiplano, at an average of 13,000 feet above sea level, to the Amazon Basin at less than 900 feet above sea level, in the rain forest. Because of the remoteness and ruggedness of the terrain and lack of paved roads all across the country, vehicle transportation is a costly item in the life and ministry of the church.

The use of four wheel drive vehicles is necessary and frequent replacement of parts and vehicles is common. In order to carry out its mission and pastor its more than 200 congregations, the church´s vehicles require on-going maintenance, insurance, government fees and even replacement of vehicles.

Vehicles are also used to transport Volunteers in Mission (VIM) teams and equipment when they arrive in country. These vehicles are vital to the transportation and success of teams in all parts of the country. Work Team Coordination and Mission Promotion #3020468

The office of Promotions and VIM Team Coordination provides full-time attention to the development of work projects and mission opportunities churches in the US to partner with the Evangelical Methodist Church in Bolivia (IEMB). Personnel provide advance coordination of projects with the Executive Committee of the IEMB and United Methodist Churches in the US to foster long term relationships which are beneficial to all parties.

The office also assists in the creation of Covenant agreements between the Bolivian Methodist Church and annual conferences in the US. Donations to the program provide for office expenses and supplies, cover transportation costs for project identification, assist with communications costs with for teams and local district and church personnel and promotion of IEMB projects and events of interest to US churches.
